What can you do in the Schlei-Region?
From the sea to the treetops - discover Eckernförde
In Eckernförde, the Ostsee Info Center (OIC) on Eckernförde beach offers a good excursion destination for all generations. Idyllic cycle tours can be undertaken in the surrounding area and for those who like it even more active, there is a high ropes course and opportunities for water sports.
A trip to the Bay of Geltingen
A day on the beach at the Baltic Sea, a nature tour on the Geltinger Birk or enjoying the view from the Falshöft lighthouse. You can explore all of this in comfort with your Donkey. Special tip: the 26-kilometre fishing trip – a slightly hilly landscape shaped by the Ice Age.
Arnis - the smallest town in Germany
Despite its small size, Arnis is a special travel destination. Half-timbered houses, small alleyways and an idyllic harbour. The small streets are lined with cosy cafés and restaurants serving regional specialities. And because it is located directly on the Schlei, Arnis is particularly favoured by water sports enthusiasts. Maritime flair, nature and history in a place where time seems to stand still.
Relax and unwind in Kappeln
With its cosy alleyways, thatched houses and the historic herring fence in the harbour, Kappeln has plenty to discover. A guided tour is the best way to get to know the town and learn interesting facts about its history. Or you can stroll along the shore, enjoy fresh fish straight from the cutter and stroll through the small boutiques. One thing is for sure, it’s well worth a visit.
